This is an exciting opportunity to step into a highly visible financial leadership role within a growing, purpose‑driven food manufacturing company. The Controller role is intentionally designed to advance and strengthen the company’s accounting and financial operations. This individual will play a key role in establishing efficient systems, enhancing financial visibility, and supporting disciplined growth across a manufacturing and co‑packing environment with seasonal operating cycles Working closely with the President, the Controller will partner on financial strategy, operational insight, and planning—serving as a trusted advisor while maintaining hands‑on ownership of the accounting function. To learn more, click here: www.floridafreshbamboo.com What You’ll Do: • Partner closely with the President as a trusted financial advisor, providing timely insight, analysis, and visibility to support informed decision‑making and growth • Build, lead, and advance the company’s accounting function, establishing close cadence, reporting rhythms, and scalable workflows • Select and implement an ERP/accounting system, including chart of accounts design, transaction workflows, and reporting structure • Design, document, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls across purchasing, AP, AR, inventory, and approvals • Own the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, AP, AR, accruals, reconciliations, and maintaining clean, audit‑ready books • Lead month‑end close and financial reporting, delivering accurate financial statements, variance analysis, and management reporting • Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital planning, and banking relationships to ensure liquidity through seasonal operating cycles • Establish and maintain manufacturing accounting discipline, including COGS, inventory valuation, product costing, and margin visibility • Implement and oversee inventory controls, coordinating with farm operations and co‑packers to validate inventory tracking and counts • Coordinate with outsourced CPA firms and external advisors, including payroll, tax compliance, and year‑end reporting What You’ll Need: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to inventory, costing, and COGS strongly required (co-manufacturing/co-packing experience is a plus). • Proven ability to be hands-on across the full accounting cycle in a lean, fast-moving organization. • Experience implementing or improving accounting/ERP systems and establishing processes/controls. • Comfortable operating in a startup setting—building structure while adapting to evolving priorities and seasonal operating demands.
