The role involves collaborating with data engineers, developers, and product managers to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of database systems. Responsibilities • Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases, including installation, configuration, and upgrades • Monitor database performance, implement optimizations, and troubleshoot issues • Perform regular backups, restores, and data recovery procedures • Implement and manage database security measures to protect data integrity and privacy • Write and maintain database documentation, including standards, procedures, and definitions • Conduct capacity planning and scaling to meet business needs • Collaborate with developers and data engineers to support database operations and application requirements • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in PostgreSQL and database technologies Skills • 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on PostgreSQL • In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, administration, and performance tuning • Experience with database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting • Proficiency in SQL and experience with PL/pgSQL • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation • Proficiency in version control systems (Git) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Experience with data governance and compliance is a plus • Relevant certifications (e.g., PostgreSQL Certified Professional) are a plus Company Overview • Welcome to Jobs via Dice, the go-to destination for discovering the tech jobs you want.
