Job Summary Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a skilled and passionate
Remote Ruby on Rails Developer to join our growing technical team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining high-performance web applications, implementing robust APIs, and collaborating with front-end developers and product teams to deliver seamless user experiences. Key Responsibilities • * Design, develop, and maintain robust Ruby on Rails applications and APIs. • * Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with a strong focus on performance. • * Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, front-end developers, and project managers to translate user needs into technical solutions. • * Participate in code reviews and mentoring sessions with fellow developers to uphold quality standards. • * Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues as needed. • * Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• * Integrate third-party services and APIs as required by the project. • * Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in web development and Ruby ecosystem. • Required Skills and Qualifications • * Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming. • * Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases. • * Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration. • * Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue.js (optional but preferred).
• * Proficiency in Git, version control workflows, and bolthires/CD pipelines. • * Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in sprint-based development cycles. • * Strong written and verbal communication skills. • * Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision. • Experience • * 2–5 years of hands-on experience in Ruby on Rails development. • * Experience working in a fully remote team environment is a plus. • * Previous experience contributing to open-source projects or large-scale applications will be highly regarded.
• Working Hours • * Flexible remote work schedule. • * Core collaboration hours: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM IST, Monday to Friday. • * Occasional meetings across time zones depending on project needs. • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • * Deep understanding of software development principles and best practices. • * Ability to design scalable and secure application architectures. • * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • * Strong organizational and time management skills. • * Enthusiastic team player who can also work independently.
