Senior Automation Specialist will lead global industrial automation initiatives and drive advancements in Operational Technology, developing and implementing scalable automation solutions across the data center product line. Responsibilities • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, IT, cybersecurity, operations, and sustainability to develop, implement, and optimize industrial automation designs and standards across Vantage’s global data center product line • Build relationships with regional peers and internal customers to understand their needs, discover opportunities, develop solutions, solicit feedback, capture lessons learned, and facilitate the transfer of knowledge globally • Provide operational technology expertise and guidance across all regions and organizational levels • Develop and maintain global automation standards such as industrial control network specifications and architecture drawings, switch and firewall specifications, detailed design specifications, ICS network monitoring and security specifications, etc • Create robust and adaptable OT solutions that meet internal and external customer requirements while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards and OT best practices • Develop OT architectures that enable digital transformation, including IIoT devices, MQTT brokers, machine learning, AI operators, and digital twins • Work with multi-functional partners in support of internal and external telemetry for customer billing, enterprise reporting, and notification • Contribute to QA/QC standardization to enhance quality product turnover • Partner with regional teams to take new technologies and designs from concept to first-of-kind deployment • Craft business cases for research and development opportunities including bolthires, schedule, performance, and testing requirements • Provide leadership and training to team members, contractors, and consultants Skills • Knowledge of industry standards, including ISA-95, the Purdue model, ISA/IEC 62443, etc • Experience authoring automation design standards, specifications, and requirements • Deep understanding of OT network topologies and protocols, such as device level ring (DLR), resilient ethernet protocol (REP), EtherNet/IP, Modbus, and OPC-UA • Experience with designing OT/ICS networks and security to include firewalls, switches, and secure remote access solutions • Experience working with virtualization platforms, high availability and redundancy configurations, Windows and Linux server software, Active Directory, DNS, and Domain Controllers • Knowledge of Rockwell Automation hardware and software • Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA software • Experience selecting, managing, and collaborating with external vendors, contractors, and consultants • 5+ years of industrial automation experience within mission critical environments required • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent is desirable but not required Benefits • Comprehensive suite of health and welfare, retirement, and paid leave benefits exceeding local expectations • An array of benefits, recognition, training and development Company Overview • Vantage Data Centers designs and develops data center campuses to large cloud providers, AI enterprises, and other tech-driven businesses.
