Aston Carter provides world-class corporate talent solutions and is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to manage complex payroll processing. The role involves ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, maintaining accuracy in payroll calculations, and addressing any identified payroll issues.
- Responsibilities
- Process complex payrolls while ensuring compliance with provincial laws and union requirements
- Maintain accuracy in all wage calculations, withholdings, deductions, and changes
- Reconcile payroll and identify risks to prevent issues with accuracy and timeliness
- Make recommendations and take action to address identified payroll issues
- Ensure compliance with federal, local, state, wage, and hour laws
- Review payroll processes to align with company philosophy and recommend internal control or efficiency enhancements
- Create and run requested reports, including year-end data, union fringes, GL data for both US and Canada
- Identify and implement union updates affecting payroll configuration
- Maintain required payroll files and records
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Complete bank and tax reconciliations by payroll, quarter, and year
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential
