As a Social Justice Brand Strategist, you will lead the development of visual communications strategies and execute high-impact creative work that aligns with clients' social justice goals. Responsibilities β€’ Serve as the strategic creative lead on projects, helping clients clarify their visual identity and align their creative assets with overarching goals β€’ Translate complex social justice issues into powerful visual campaigns that move people to action β€’ Lead branding, rebranding, and campaign creative processes from concept to completion, including workshops, concept decks, stakeholder feedback, and final delivery β€’ Present and defend strategic design direction with clarity, confidence, and flexibility β€’ Partner with internal teams to align creative strategy with communications goals and audience insights β€’ Offer guidance and strategic insight across a variety of creative mediums from digital to print to motion β€’ Design collateral, visual toolkits, social media content, print and digital ads, reports, decks, email templates, branding elements, and more β€’ Push creative boundaries to ensure Mixte’s work leads the industry in innovation, cultural relevance, and authenticity β€’ Balance big-idea conceptual design with day-to-day production needs β€’ Scale creative deliverables based on scope and budget from scrappy grassroots campaigns to multi-platform initiatives β€’ Understand the 23-point Mixte Manual and how all of the things Mixte does as a company interact with your strategic role as Social Justice Brand Strategist β€’ Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate design into broader communications strategies β€’ Proactively surface creative ideas that align with client goals and emerging trends in advocacy, activism, and storytelling β€’ Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients, serving as both a creative advisor and a hands-on partner β€’ Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients and team members across timelines, revisions, and expectations β€’ Collaborate with other strategists to understand how various other communications initiatives and strategies correlate and overlap and ensure all are working together smoothly and efficiently toward big-picture company and client goals β€’ Initiate conversations, brainstorms, research to unearth key inspiration to drive creative concepts and design proposals β€’ Drive big-picture design projects, such as a rebrand or creative campaign, from start to finish, leading the team and the client through the necessary steps of the process to ensure alignment and excitement with the final product β€’ Contribute to new business pitches and proposals, lending strategic and creative vision to help win work β€’ Meet quarterly revenue and outreach goals related to business development β€’ Identify growth opportunities within existing client accounts by offering creative solutions that solve emerging needs Skills β€’ This role requires that you are established and located in either Northern Virginia, Atlanta, GA, San Diego, or Oregon β€” no exceptions β€’ 7+ years of experience in brand development, graphic design, visual communications, or art direction, ideally with strategy responsibilities β€’ Demonstrated experience leading creative campaigns or brand initiatives with social impact β€’ Portfolio that showcases a mix of strategy-led design work and hands-on execution across print, digital, and motion β€’ Deep proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; bonus if you also know Canva, video editing tools, and light animation β€’ Excellent presentation skills and the ability to pitch creative ideas persuasively β€’ Strong project management and organizational skills, including comfort with Asana, Slack, and bolthires Workspace β€’ Experience working with communities of color, LGBTQ+ communities, or social justice organizations is highly preferred β€’ Fluency in Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Vietnamese is a strong plus Benefits β€’ Outrageously awesome benefits β€’ A four-day work week β€’ A paid winter break between Dec 25 and New Years Company Overview β€’ Mixte Communications offers digital communication & public relations solutions that cover workshops, assessments, training & bolthires adwords.
