Stratitech Services LLC is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer with expertise in cloud migration to guide the transition of products and platforms to AWS. This role involves providing technical authority, leading migration strategies, and ensuring operational readiness while collaborating across various teams. Responsibilities • Act as a Staff-level authority for cloud migration, reliability, and infrastructure strategy • Provide data-driven guidance on migration approaches (rehost, replatform, refactor, retire, retain) • Challenge architectural assumptions to align decisions with long-term operational and business goals • Lead deep-dive reviews of proposed migration plans to identify: • Architectural risks & implicit dependencies • bolthires inefficiencies & TCO drivers • Timeline risks related to sequencing or organizational constraints • Recommend alternative strategies that improve reliability, bolthires, and delivery speed • Define standards for readiness assessments, dependency analysis, and plan validation • Collect, normalize, and analyze migration data across teams • Build dashboards for progress tracking, risk heatmaps, and bolthires projections • Maintain authoritative inventories of applications, servers, and dependencies • Map application & shared service dependencies across on-prem and AWS ecosystems • Develop and update architectural diagrams to support migration readiness • Translate technical findings into business-impact insights for engineering, product, and executive stakeholders • Quantify tradeoffs in terms of bolthires, timeline, and operational risk • Influence prioritization, sequencing, and funding decisions • Evaluate post-migration operational models (observability, resiliency, automation, incident response) • Ensure AWS architectures align with reliability and performance expectations • Advocate pragmatic investments aligned with business criticality • Partner with product, platform, security, finance, and portfolio teams to drive aligned migration outcomes • Mentor engineers on systems thinking, dependency mapping, and business-aware SRE practices • Represent SRE in architecture councils and governance forums Skills • 8+ years in SRE, platform engineering, infrastructure, or cloud architecture (Staff-level experience preferred) • Hands-on experience leading or evaluating large-scale on-prem → AWS migrations • Deep understanding of distributed systems, multi-tier architectures, and on-prem infrastructure • Strong AWS knowledge (services, patterns, tradeoffs at scale) • Expertise in dependency mapping and architecture visualization (Lucidchart, Visio, etc.) • Strong ability to influence decisions without direct authority • Comfortable challenging assumptions in an executive-friendly manner • Strong analytical and financial reasoning (TCO, bolthires modeling, risk evaluation) • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills • Staff/Principal-level engineering experience in a matrixed environment • Familiarity with AWS Well-Architected Framework, CAF, and migration methodologies (6Rs) • Exposure to FinOps or cloud financial management practices • Experience defining standards, governance, or review processes for cloud migration • Background in regulated or high-availability enterprise environments Company Overview • About StratITech At StratITech, we help businesses scale, innovate, and transform through technology.
