As a remote‑first organization, Workwarp embraces flexibility, diversity, and inclusive teamwork, enabling talent from any location to contribute to mission‑critical projects. Why Join Our Summer Product Design Internship? This is not a typical “look‑and‑learn” internship. You will be immersed in real‑world, high‑impact projects that directly influence the experience of millions of end‑users. Guided by seasoned design mentors, you will work side‑by‑side with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and marketers to shape the future of our flagship products. The summer program is designed to accelerate your professional growth, expand your portfolio, and provide a launchpad for a thriving career in UX and product design. Position Overview – Remote Summer 2025 Product Design Intern We are seeking a highly motivated, creatively‑driven individual to join our Product Design team for the summer of 2025. The intern will contribute to the end‑to‑end design process—from research and ideation to prototyping, usability testing, and hand‑off to engineering—while operating in a fast‑paced, agile environment. This remote role offers flexible hours, a competitive stipend, and the chance to work on high‑visibility features for our enterprise‑grade SaaS suite. Key Responsibilities User Research & Insight Generation: Conduct qualitative and quantitative user studies, develop interview guides, synthesize findings into actionable insights, and define user personas and Jobs‑to‑Be‑Done frameworks. Interaction Design & Prototyping: Produce low‑fidelity wireframes, high‑fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes using Figma (or similar tools) to communicate design concepts to cross‑functional stakeholders. Usability Testing & Iteration: Plan and execute usability sessions, collect feedback, analyze results, and iteratively refine designs to mitigate high‑risk assumptions before engineering implementation. Cross‑functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers to align design solutions with business objectives, and work closely with engineers to ensure technical feasibility and seamless hand‑off. Design System Stewardship: Contribute to the evolution of Workwarp’s design system by creating reusable components, documenting guidelines, and maintaining visual consistency across product lines. Market & Competitive Analysis: Research industry trends, assess competitor products, and translate market insights into innovative design strategies that address emerging user needs. Agile Participation: Attend daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, delivering design artifacts that align with sprint goals and timelines. Documentation & Communication: Prepare clear design documentation, user flows, and presentation decks to articulate design rationale to senior leadership. What You’ll Learn & The Impact You’ll Make During your internship, you will gain hands‑on experience with the full UX lifecycle, sharpen your visual and interaction design skills, and develop a deep understanding of enterprise product development. You will see your design concepts evolve from sketches on a virtual whiteboard to shipped features used by global customers. The mentorship program pairs you with a senior designer who will provide regular feedback, career coaching, and exposure to strategic decision‑making processes. By the end of the summer, you will have a robust portfolio of case studies, a network of professionals across the organization, and a clear roadmap for your future in product design. Essential Qualifications Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Visual Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Science, or a closely related field. Demonstrated understanding of user‑centered design principles, evidenced by a portfolio or academic projects that showcase research, ideation, and visual design. Strong visual design sensibility, including layout, typography, color theory, and iconography. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions to diverse audiences. Self‑starter attitude, comfortable working remotely and managing time effectively in a distributed team setting. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing for both web applications and mobile platforms (iOS/Android). Background in conducting usability testing, creating test scripts, and synthesizing findings. Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies and familiarity with tools such as Jira or Trello. Knowledge of front‑end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) sufficient to discuss feasibility with engineers. Participation in design‑related hackathons, workshops, or extracurricular design clubs. Core Competencies & Behavioral Traits Self‑Confidence with Humility: Confident in making design decisions while remaining open to feedback and collaboration.
