Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Aston Carter provides world-class corporate talent solutions and is seeking a Tax Reporting Specialist. This role involves managing and reconciling complex payroll tax returns and providing recommendations on payroll/tax system issues.
- Responsibilities
- File and reconcile complex payroll tax returns for Federal, State, SUI, Local, and FUTA
- Research payroll/tax system issues and provide recommendations to management
- Train and mentor co-workers on tax reporting processes
- Participate in the W-2 process
- Recommend and lead the implementation of process improvements
- Research and review payroll tax regulation changes for potential impacts
- Skills
- At least 5 years of experience in paying and filing payroll tax returns, including Federal, State, SUI, Local, and FUTA
- Proficiency in Peoplesoft Payroll Tax and ADP Master Tax systems
- Advanced Excel skills, including V-Lookups and Pivot Tables
- Strong knowledge of tax law and accounting principles
- Attention to detail and strong critical thinking abilities
- Proficiency in conducting tax research
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Effective mentoring abilities
- Strong time management skills
- High School diploma/GED equivalent or higher with a minimum of 4 years multi-state/local tax and 1 year customer service experience, OR Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management with a minimum of 4 years multi-state/local tax and 1 year customer service experience
