We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join the Oswego Community Unit School District 308 team. As a Teacher Assistant (WC), you will work under the direction of a licensed teacher and/or administrator to support students in achieving their full potential. Responsibilities:
- Support small group and one-on-one instruction to present, guide, and reinforce skills, concepts, and strategies
- Maintain and update student records, monitoring and recording academic and behavioral progress
- Prepare instructional materials, supplies, and equipment for lessons
- Participate in meetings, professional development activities, and substitute for fellow workers as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and codes of the profession
Requirements:
- Valid Illinois Educator License with Stipulations - Paraprofessional or Professional Educator License or Substitute Teacher License
- Effective verbal and written language skills, with the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively
- Ability to work well with students and staff, with a strong commitment to supporting student learning and achievement
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
- Experience working with children preferred, with a strong understanding of child development and educational principles
