The Technical Sales Engineer – Chilled Water is responsible for supporting chiller equipment sales, leading presentations, and providing technical training to enhance sales opportunities. Responsibilities β€’ Support GSA Account Managers in design discussions to establish Vertiv as basis of design and with project strategy to increase win rates on critical to close projects. β€’ Maintain consistent relationships with key engineering firms within assigned territory and track Vertiv performance. β€’ Monitor GSA account performance and implement gap plans to address weaknesses in specific local offices. β€’ Actively participate in customer visits through presentations and entertainment. β€’ Participate as needed in account planning efforts and engagement strategies for key clients. β€’ Represent Vertiv at industry conferences, seminars, and customer presentations. β€’ Stay updated on evolving industry trends, materials, and technologies to maintain Vertiv’s competitive edge. β€’ Provide industry feedback to product managers for product improvements and roadmaps. β€’ Provide escalation support for customer requests not addressable by local sales teams. β€’ Mentor early career Vertiv employees within technical sales team. Skills β€’ 8+ years of industry technical experience. β€’ Technical knowledge of mechanical building systems and applications. β€’ Ability to discuss air-cooled, water-cooled and heat recovery chillers with mechanical design engineers. β€’ Deep market dynamics and industry knowledge. β€’ Proven track record of influencing engineering accounts. β€’ Experience working with rep sales offices. β€’ Salesmanship and self-confidence to deal with stressful customer relationship issues. β€’ Excellent presentation skills. β€’ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate technical challenges into actionable plans. β€’ Previous sales experience β€’ Experience with data center design practices and equipment Education Requirements β€’ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field of study (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
