The Merchant Onboarding Technical Support Specialist will guide merchants through complex onboarding stages, troubleshoot integration issues, and collaborate with various teams to ensure successful launches. Responsibilities β€’ Serve as the technical escalation point for merchant onboarding and configuration issues β€’ Troubleshoot API, SDK, and integration challenges across webhooks, plug-ins, and checkout flows β€’ Read, analyze, and explain Bolt and merchant-side code (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS; backend a plus) β€’ Collaborate cross-functionally with Implementation, Engineering, and Customer Operations teams β€’ Identify potential risks and dependencies (β€œWhen we fix this, what else will they need?”) β€’ Develop reusable solutions and documentation for recurring issues β€’ Support merchants in test and production environments through to launch β€’ Participate in merchant calls and debugging sessions when needed β€’ Create internal tools, code snippets, and templates to improve visibility and speed β€’ Participate in the technical support on call rotation Skills β€’ 3–5 years in a technical support, onboarding, or implementation role within SaaS, payments, or e-commerce β€’ Demonstrated ability to read and debug code (JavaScript/TypeScript required; Python/Go/Java a plus) β€’ Deep understanding of REST APIs, authentication, and system integrations β€’ Strong communication skills with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders β€’ Analytical and proactive - able to see beyond the surface issue to root cause and prevention β€’ Strong ownership - you manage merchants and internal follow‑ups independently β€’ Experience with Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, or Salesforce Commerce Cloud β€’ Familiarity with Postman, Datadog, GitHub, and browser developer tools β€’ Prior exposure to payments, risk, or checkout systems β€’ Ability to write and maintain light automation or scripts β€’ Experience mentoring or guiding peers on technical troubleshooting Benefits β€’ Comprehensive health coverage: Medical, dental and vision β€’ Remote-first workplace β€’ Time away: Minimum of 20 days guaranteed PTO, paid holidays + floating holidays, your birthday off! β€’ Paid parental leave β€’ Competitive Pay β€’ Retirement plans β€’ Virtual and in-person team & company events Company Overview β€’ Bolt is a fintech company that facilitates one-click online checkouts.
