The Underwriter role involves maintaining profitability through risk selection and analysis, managing relationships with insurance agents, and collaborating with various teams to enhance the underwriting process. Responsibilities • Maintain profitability with appropriate risk selection, analysis and service of accounts based on Cowbell Cyber Insurance guidelines • Manage relationships with insurance agents to negotiate pricing, coverages and other terms • Servicing of renewal business throughout the year while maintaining our customer service standards • Collaboration with the Business Development team to support their goals and strengthen partnerships with agents • Maintain an expansive knowledge of the cyber insurance marketplace and current trends in the industry • Easily identify areas where our unique capabilities provide us with a competitive advantage and build out processes that support these • Actively participate in determining our approach to emerging threats, loss trends, marketplace changes and other trends in cyber risks • Partner with the Engineering and Data Science teams to continually improve our technology and deliverable to the policyholder • Serve as a subject matter expert for team on coverage questions • Collaborate with a passionate team, have fun, grow, learn, and teach the company along the way Skills • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience • Minimum 1+ years of underwriting experience, preferably in Cyber • Technical expertise and product knowledge in Commercial Insurance • Demonstrate ability to develop new renewable Cyber and Tech E&O business profitably over a significant period of time • Knowledge of marketing principles, underwriting and pricing strategies • Superb sales and marketing skills; must be able to demonstrate successful agency and broker management, including building, maintaining and managing producer and customer relationships • Proven ability to successfully negotiate on all levels and develop producer relationships • Strong track record of service orientation and teamwork Benefits • Competitive compensation • Comprehensive benefits • Continuous opportunities for professional development Company Overview • Cowbell provides cyber insurance for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as upmarket businesses using AI-driven risk assessment.
