Gray Media is a multimedia company that owns a significant portfolio of television stations and digital assets across the United States. They are seeking a talented Web Developer to join their Digital team, where you will design, build, and maintain dynamic websites for local news stations using a React-based content management system. Responsibilities β€’ Collaborate with our Digital team to design, build, and maintain front-end features within our content management system (CMS). β€’ Develop and manage CMS workflows and back-end functionality supporting hundreds of websites. β€’ Create and maintain data feeds using formats such as RSS and JSON to support integrations across platforms. β€’ Implement features and services by integrating with REST-based APIs. β€’ Provide internal support and guidance for CMS users to ensure smooth publishing operations. β€’ Stay up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and best practices to incorporate them into our development process. β€’ Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and sprint planning sessions to drive continuous improvement and innovation. Skills β€’ Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6 and beyond). β€’ Proficiency with React.js and experience using state management libraries such as Redux, MobX, or React's Context API. β€’ Hands-on experience with version control in a collaborative environment, preferably Git. β€’ Familiarity with build tools and bundlers such as Webpack. β€’ Solid foundation in web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript. β€’ Knowledge of testing frameworks such as Mocha, Karma, Jest, or Chai. β€’ Experience with frameworks and libraries such as Bootstrap, SASS/SCSS/LESS, Node.js, and/or PHP. β€’ Familiarity with HTTP request tools such as Axios, SuperAgent, or the native Fetch API. β€’ Comfort using command-line tools for development and troubleshooting. β€’ Understanding of performance monitoring and optimization tools such as Lighthouse and browser developer tools. Education Requirements β€’ Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
