We are currently seeking a Renewables Associate Underwriter to support our Renewables and Construction underwriting team. This role focuses on administrative execution, data integrity, and initial risk screening to ensure applications are accurately processed through the underwriting pipeline. The position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Set up electronic files and enter preliminary data into underwriting systems with a high degree of accuracy.
Cleanse and validate Schedule of Values (SOVs) provided by brokers to ensure accuracy of data entering underwriting systems.
Assist in the preparation of quotes, binders, and formal policy documents.
Process routine mid‑term policy changes and endorsements that do not require complex risk evaluation.
Support broker and client relationships through timely, professional communication.
Participate in broker meetings and client presentations while taking on increasing levels of responsibility.
Assist in monitoring portfolio performance, loss trends, and catastrophe accumulations.
Ensure underwriting files, documentation, and systems comply with governance, audit, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate closely with engineering, claims, accounting, legal, and operations teams.
Support team learning initiatives, training efforts, and knowledge sharing.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, Economics, Business, or a related field.
0-3 years of experience in commercial or industrial property underwriting.
Solid understanding of property insurance concepts, including CAT modeling.
Proficiency with underwriting systems, pricing tools, and Microsoft Office.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven underwriting environment.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. HDI Global Insurance Company does not sponsor employment visas.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $70,000-$90,000, plus eligibility for a performance‑based annual bonus. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors including experience, education, and location.
