Job Description
I need a researcher to build a targeted mailing list of communications directors (or equivalent) at the 2,000 largest churches in the United States. This is a well-defined, repeatable research task — ideal for someone organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working from multiple web sources.
WHAT I NEED DELIVERED:
A Excel sheet with the following columns for each record:
1. Church Name
2. Contact First Name
3. Contact Last Name
4. Contact Title
5. Mailing Address (street)
6. City
7. State
8. ZIP Code
9. Email (if publicly listed on church website)
10. Church Website URL
11. Approximate Weekly Attendance (if listed)
TARGET CONTACT TITLE — in order of preference:
If the church lists multiple staff, find the person with the closest title to:
1. Communications Director
2. Media Director
3. Creative Director
4. Marketing Director
5. Executive Pastor (only if none of the above exist)
HOW TO BUILD THE LIST (Suggested- you can suggest a better method) — follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Go to the Hartford Institute Megachurch Database:
https://hirr.hartfordinternational.edu/research/megachurch-database/full-list-of-megachurches/
Work through all 67 pages. For each church, record the church name, city, state, and website URL. This gives you roughly 1,800 target churches.
Step 2: Supplement with Outreach100.com
Go to outreach100.com and add any large churches listed there that are not already in your Hartford list.
Step 3: For each church on your list, visit their website and find their Staff or Team page. Locate the communications/media/marketing contact and record their name, title, and mailing address.
QUALITY STANDARDS:
- Every record must have at minimum: church name, contact name, title, and full mailing address
- Do not guess or fabricate any information — if you cannot find a contact name, leave it blank and note "no staff page found"
- Mailing addresses must be the church's physical or mailing address, not a P.O. Box if avoidable
- Deliver the first 100 records within 3 days so I can spot-check quality before approving the full project
PAYMENT:
Fixed price for completed list of 2,000 entires, verified record. I will review the first 100 records before approving moving forward wiht the rest. . Records with missing required fields (name, title, address) will not count toward the total.
