We're looking for a sharp, science-literate generalist who's as comfortable drafting a LinkedIn post as they are holding a conversation about CRISPR delivery vectors. This is a hybrid community-building and growth role where you'll own the connective tissue between Phylo and the academic biology world β running our community channels, forging partnerships with top labs, and creatively getting the word out about what we're building. This is ideal for a early career or current master's/PhD student who wants real startup experience without leaving academia. You'll wear many hats and work directly with the founders. What You'll Do β’ Lab Program Operations: Help manage and scale our lab program β coordinating onboarding, gathering feedback, and ensuring research labs get the most out of Biomni Lab. β’ University Ambassador Program: Build and run a university ambassador program to drive adoption among graduate students, postdocs, and PIs at top research institutions. β’ Community Building: Nurture and grow our community of 8,400+ scientists β organizing events (virtual and in-person), facilitating discussions, and surfacing power users and champions. β’ Content & Communications: Draft newsletters, email campaigns, and educational content tailored to a scientific audience. Help craft messaging that translates complex biology for broader reach. β’ Partnership Support: Help coordinate partnerships with research institutions, biotech companies, and scientific organizations. β’ Event Coordination: Help plan and execute our presence at scientific conferences, workshops, and community meetups. β’ Whatever You Dream Up: The worldβs your oyster in this role; we want someone who sees opportunities we haven't thought of yet and runs with them. If you have an idea for how to grow a scientific community, we want to hear it. Who You Are β’ Science background strongly preferred. Biology, bioengineering, molecular biology, genomics, or adjacent fields. You can read a paper abstract and actually understand it. β’ Current undergrad, master's, or PhD student (or recent grad). You're early in your career but intellectually ambitious. β’ Clear, confident communicator. You write well, you speak well, and you're not afraid to cold-email a PI at a top lab. β’ Excitement for community marketing and virality. You're already have a feel for what works in building communities - online and offline; you're excited to contribute to the Phylo brand and leadership in the AI for science space. β’ Builder mentality. You thrive in ambiguity, take ownership, and don't wait to be told what to do. β’ Comfortable in the room. You can hold your own in conversations with PhDs and lab directors without being one (yet). Nice to Have β’ Experience leading student organizations (e.g., Nucleate) or managing an online community (e.g., Slack, Discord, forums) β’ Prior internship or project work in biotech, life sciences, or a research lab β’ Proficiency with AI tools like Claude Code/Cowork, Notion, Canva, Figma, etc. β’ A personal social media presence that shows you understand content and audience β’ Event planning experience (even informal - hackathons, club events, meetups count) β’ A portfolio of past work - include a link in your application and we'll definitely look at it!
