The State of Maryland's Department of Natural Resources is seeking a Seasonal Contractual Project Review and Planning Administrative Assistant. This role involves providing direct support to the Project Review and Planning team, including project intake, data management, and administrative tasks. Responsibilities Assist with the intake of new projects, monitoring the project review inbox for new projects, inputting data into the project review database, and handling routine correspondence Compilation of project files, document development and processing, and coordination with other units of DNR, other agencies, and outside organizations Planning support will include document preparation and review, grant reporting and accounting, and database management Administrative tasks will include document scanning, scheduling meetings, and procurement assistance Occasional outreach, webpage development and social media may be required Skills Completion of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university in business, public administration, communications, recreation and parks, or a natural resource-related field One year of experience in an administrative support capacity is required for this position Possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland and five points or fewer on their current driving record Experience working at a public agency (local, state or federal) providing a familiarity with the working of government agencies Experience using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Google applications (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive), Adobe software and Docusign Excellent organizational skills including data management, project tracking, and file management on shared network drives Benefits Subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents Dental coverage Accidental death and dismemberment insurance Life insurance Leave may be granted to a contractual employee at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
