Our client, a vital non-profit organization committed to advancing educational equity, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Grant Writer and Development Officer. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while making a substantial contribution to our client's mission in Houston, Texas, US and nationwide. You will be instrumental in securing the funding necessary to support our client's critical programs and initiatives through expert grant writing and strategic development efforts. Responsibilities: Research and identify potential funding sources, including foundations, government agencies, and corporate grants, that align with the organization's mission and programs. Write compelling, persuasive, and high-quality grant proposals, applications, and reports that clearly articulate the organization's needs, programs, and impact. Develop and maintain strong relationships with foundation program officers and other key funding contacts. Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information, data, and stories to support grant proposals. Manage the grant submission process, ensuring all applications are submitted accurately and on time according to funder guidelines. Track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and funder communications. Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including cultivating relationships with major donors and overseeing stewardship activities. Analyze funding trends and competitor landscapes to inform fundraising strategies. Contribute to the overall development and communications strategy of the organization. Maintain accurate and organized records of all grant-related activities and correspondence. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Non-profit Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. 5+ years of proven experience in grant writing and fundraising for non-profit organizations. Demonstrated success in securing grants from diverse funding sources. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to craft persuasive narratives. Strong research and analytical skills to identify suitable funding opportunities. Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in database management and CRM systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce) is a plus. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines in a remote environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships. A deep understanding of and passion for the mission of educational equity.
