Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Information Architect (IA) /Content Architect for a project based, full-time, and remote position.The Senior IA/Content Architect will apply a broad range of user research, business analysis, and technical skills to design, model, and maintain content templates for a Fortune 50 website project already underway. This work includes managing and evolving content template strategy and design within a major marketing web authoring environment. Responsibilities may include defining specifications for editorial content types and formats and their ideal componentization across digital marketing channels to support personalization, reuse, automated delivery, and measurable impact.
Additional responsibilities may include developing authoring and production guidelines, streamlining the organization of key content and information assets, creating governance policies and process flows, writing in-system labels and UI microcopy, and developing glossaries, thesauri, and other vocabulary tools to support controlled terminology, content standardization, and reliable metadata hygiene across the marketing ecosystem.
- Responsibilities
- Understand, refine, and assist in implementation of the overall vision for the content architecture for a large enterprise website.
- Evolve content templates for the site so that they support overall site goals, including content re-use, dynamic content delivery, content and campaign measurement.
- Create governance process for management of the templates
- Work closely with and advise the technology teams implementing the templates
- Incorporate client-led user research and technical requirements into the evolution of the content templates.
- Work closely with the taxonomy and navigation teams
- Work with different teams to design and utilize metrics for content assessment and template maintenance processes.
- Participate and own aspects of the taxonomy assessment and modeling process, including user research, and assessments of technology, user experience, governance, workflows, tagging, analytics, etc.
- As part of the Factor project team, document findings and recommendations from assessment activities.
- Create client-ready deliverables.
- Train lower-level Information Architects as assigned. Provide assistance and mentoring to colleagues.
- Provide leadership, partnership, and communication with team members and clients.
- Support the project lead on account management activities.

- Skills and Qualifications
- Deep understanding of content strategy in an enterprise environment.
- Deep understanding of information management, and with enterprise-level environments.
- Able to create governance processes for content and content templates.
- Able to learn new skills and processes in a wide variety of contexts.
- Strong analytical skills, communication skills (written, verbal, and visual), and interpersonal skills, both for executing the work items and providing guidance to our customers.
- Proficiency with commercial marketing content management software packages.
- Strong verbal/written communication skills that can address technical, business, and executive stakeholders. The ability to communicate visually is a bonus.
- Able to work collaboratively with all employees and contractors.
- A solid understanding of and ability to communicate the ways content, content models and other data structures support information management and business goals.
- Ability to envision and manage assigned tasks and projects from start to finish.
- Proficiency with Figma.
- Possess a collaborative nature, be extremely detail-oriented, and embrace vigorous research and analysis of complex narratives to detect, evaluate, and categorize insightful patterns.
- Education and Experience
- Masterโs Degree in Library Science or Information Management or related work experience.
- Four to six yearsโ experience working on Content Architecture or related projects in large sized organizations
- Experience with enterprise content and digital asset management systems. Experience with Adobe marketing tools is highly desirable.
Annual Salary Range: $121,000 to $148,000
