Senior Software Engineer (React / Epic / FHIR) – Contract to Hire - 100% Remote Optomi, in partnership with a leading healthcare provider, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer with hands-on SMART on FHIR app development, FHIR resource development, EPIC App Orchard, and front-end UI/UX experience. This role supports the design and development of sophisticated clinical information solutions that directly impact patient care and provider workflows. We are looking for a highly skilled engineer capable of designing custom UI experiences, building secure healthcare integrations, and leading development efforts across complex health data systems. What the Right Professional Will Enjoy: • Working on high-impact healthcare applications used by clinicians and patients • Building SMART on FHIR applications that integrate with major EHR platforms • The chance to influence UI/UX design within clinical workflows • A role with autonomy, visibility, and strong long-term stability Role Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and support SMART on FHIR applications and custom healthcare integration solutions • Build high-quality, branded custom UIs within clinical systems—not just standard templates • Analyze complex business and clinical requirements and translate them into technical solutions • Write, debug, optimize, and document full-stack code across front-end and back-end components • Ensure alignment with architecture standards and solution design guidelines • Develop secure REST APIs and web services for healthcare data exchange • Partner with architecture, vendors, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions • Create and review unit test plans; ensure high-quality software delivery Education & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred) • SMART on FHIR app development (Required) • EPIC App Orchard experience (Required) • Experience with HTML5, CSS, wireframing, UX best practices • Experience building secure integrations with external systems • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently • Experience mentoring junior developers and contributing to architectural discussions • Healthcare, medical insurance, or hospital IT experience preferred Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Engineering and Information Technology Industries Health and Human Services Benefits • Medical insurance • Vision insurance • 401(k) Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Optomi by 2x Apply tot his job
