- Oversee reinsurance operations and lead the placement of reinsurance
- Prepare and present proposals for reinsurance placements
- Negotiate insurance and reinsurance placements
- Maintain current in-depth knowledge of the reinsurance marketplace
- Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients
- Serve as primary contact for any carrier underwriting and claim audits
- Work with all functional areas of the company
- Understand and manage current policy administration procedures
- Lead strategic analysis of the marketplace
- Analyze the quality and quantity of risks underwritten
- Requirements:
- 10+ years’ experience in P&C reinsurance operations/sales/underwriting
- College degree (preferred)
- Technical knowledge of reinsurance markets, reinsurance placement and wording
- Understanding of coverage wording and underwriting
- Ability to perform effectively in a technical leadership position
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including high level Excel experience
- Ability to travel up to 10%
