Project Overview: Atelerix Press LLC is developing an illustrated short novel currently being adapted across audiobook, video, and animated formats. We are seeking a senior video editor / story producer to assemble a rough “Ken Burns–style” video mockup using: • A narrative manuscript • ~50 finished black-and-white illustrations by a senior human illustrator • Placeholder or pre-existing music • Temporary narration (AI or guide track)

This rough cut is a story, pacing, and emotional proof of concept, not a final film.

It will directly inform later live-action, animated, or hybrid production. This is a paid mockup engagement with a clear path to follow-on work as the project advances. Phase 1 — Rough Video Assembly (

This Posting) Scope of Work • Assemble a Ken Burns–style video mockup (approx. 15–20 minutes) • Use: Provided manuscript (or excerpt); 50 finished illustrations; Temporary narration (AI or guide); Placeholder or pre-existing music • Apply: Slow pans, pushes, and reframes; Thoughtful timing and breathing room; Simple dissolves and transitions; Editorial focus on: Narrative clarity, Emotional pacing, Visual restraint

This is not animation.

No character motion, no effects-heavy work, no over-designed graphics. Deliverable. One complete rough-cut video suitable for internal review; 1–2 reasonable revision passes; Final delivery as a high-quality reference file (ProRes / high-bitrate MP4) Budget — Phase 1 $2,000–$4,000 fixed fee, depending on experience and demonstrated judgment. Phase 2 — Follow-On Production (Anticipated)

The right candidate may continue into refined video edits; Longer-form adaptations; Hybrid live/animated versions; Festival or pitch versions Anticipated Phase 2 Budget: $6,000–$15,000+, depending on scope, format, and level of involvement.

Continuity and editorial consistency are priorities. Required Experience • Proven experience editing narrative, documentary, or story-driven video • Strong editorial instincts for still-image storytelling • Demonstrated restraint — knowing when not to move the camera • Comfort working with: o Long-form narration o Music-led pacing o Incomplete or placeholder elements • Ability to deliver to deadline without supervision Strong Preference For Candidates With • Documentary or literary adaptation experience • Ken Burns–style or still-image narrative samples • Experience collaborating with: o Authors o Illustrators o Composers • Interest in staying attached as the project evolves
