Job Description
PwC Canada is a leading professional services firm committed to fostering a collaborative workplace. As an Associate, you will work with a team to help solve complex business issues related to insurance claims, focusing on quantification and financial analysis.
Responsibilities
- Consult with claimants/policyholders, counsel, and representatives of insurance companies
- Determine financial information required to assess the loss/claim
- Research and investigate company or industry information related to the claim as required
- Prepare detailed analysis of accounting records and other personal and corporate financial information, including the identification of unusual or unreasonable amounts and/or errors
- Determine what type of financial analysis to prepare depending on the type of loss/claim
- Prepare financial models forecasting out the projected income, absent the loss/claim
- Prepare analysis of actual performance against that projected, identifying specific areas that were impacted as a result of the loss/claim
- Present analysis and research using Microsoft Suite and various other internal software
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of loss quantification reports and/or loss review (critique) to lawyers (both plaintiff and defense counsel) and/or insurance adjusters/claims managers
Skills
- Enrolled in or completed post-secondary education and will have all Canadian CPA required prerequisite courses completed prior to full-time start date
- Solid understanding of accounting and tax concepts
- Strong research skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate issues and ideas
- Highly detail oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to think broadly and to ask questions about data, facts and other information to deliver quality to our clients
- Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines on multiple engagements simultaneously
- An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends
- An openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work
- Share and collaborate effectively with others, building relationships which are genuine and rooted in trust
- A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside and/or coaching diverse people and perspectives

- Comfortable travelling to cities across Canada (when deemed safe to do so by applicable public health or regulatory authorities and PwC)
- This role requires that you are legally entitled to work for PwC in Canada for the intended duration of the offer/contract
- Bilingual in English and French
