- Design visually compelling and responsive Shopify storefronts that align with brand identity and marketing goals.
- Develop custom themes and templates using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid (Shopify’s templating language) to enhance user experience.
- Implement interactive elements, motion graphics, and animations to create engaging digital experiences.
- Optimize website performance through SEO best practices, web accessibility standards, and usability testing to ensure maximum reach and engagement.
- Maintain and update existing Shopify sites, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular website maintenance to ensure smooth operation.
- Collaborate with graphic designers to produce logos, layouts, typography, and visual assets using Adobe Creative Suite tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and XD.
- Conduct user research and data analysis using Google Analytics 360, web analytics tools, and data analysis skills to inform design improvements.
- Integrate third-party apps and content management systems (CMS) to extend site functionality.
- Use version control systems like Git for collaborative development workflows.
- Stay current with industry trends in digital marketing, UX/UI design, front-end development frameworks like React or Angular, and emerging e-commerce features.
- Strong expertise in digital design principles including interaction design, visual design, typography, layout design, and wireframing using tools such as Figma or Balsamiq.
- Proficiency in web development languages including HTML5, CSS3 (and preprocessors like SCSS), JavaScript (and frameworks like React or Angular), PHP, Node.js, SQL/MySQL databases.
- Experience with Shopify platform customization through Liquid templating language; familiarity with content management systems like WordPress or Drupal is a plus.
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG), usability testing methods, and responsive web design techniques for optimal performance across devices.
- Familiarity with SEO strategies and web analytics tools such as Google Analytics 360 for tracking user behavior and site performance insights.
- Ability to create motion graphics and animations using Adobe After Effects or Adobe Animate to enhance visual storytelling.
- Experience with front-end frameworks like Bootstrap or Telerik for rapid development; version control using Git is essential.
- Strong graphic design skills utilizing Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign; experience with Adobe XD or InVision for prototyping is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of email marketing platforms like Mailchimp; understanding of digital marketing strategies to support integrated campaigns.
- Excellent user research skills combined with data analysis capabilities to inform iterative design improvements.
