Job Description
We are building a faith-based storytelling platform called Hearts of Memphis, focused on real-life transformation, family dynamics, and redemption through culturally relevant, episodic content. Our vision is to develop short-form, soap opera-style stories for social media that reflect the realities of everyday life while introducing hope, structure, and change. We are looking for a scriptwriter who can bring emotionally compelling, character-driven stories to life. These stories will center around relationships, family conflict, identity, and personal growth, all rooted in authentic experiences and ongoing storylines that keep audiences engaged. A key element of this project is cultural authenticity. Our stories are deeply rooted in Memphis culture β the language, environment, family dynamics, and social realities of the city. If you are not from Memphis, you must be open and willing to collaborate closely with someone who is, to ensure characters, dialogue, and situations feel real and accurate. The ideal writer understands how to create tension, develop layered characters, and build continuous story arcs across multiple episodes. This is not about one-off scripts, but about building a connected world where characters evolve, relationships shift, and transformation unfolds over time. We are not looking for overly polished or theatrical writing. We want stories that feel raw, relatable, and grounded β where the message is revealed through the situation, not forced through dialogue. While our foundation is faith-based, the storytelling should feel natural and accessible, allowing viewers to connect with the characters before fully recognizing the deeper message. This is an opportunity to help shape a growing platform from the ground up, with the potential to expand into larger productions, live experiences, and a broader media ecosystem. If youβre passionate about storytelling that reflects real life, creates emotional connection, and carries meaningful impact, weβd love to connect.
