Overview: The Software Engineering Manager is a member of the Pharmacy Services Platform Engineering team . This role blends technical leadership, people management, and hands-on engineering to deliver scalable, reliable pharmacy technology that supports exceptional patient and operational experiences. You will lead a small, high-impact engineering team while partnering closely with Pharmacy Operations, Product Management, and IT Infrastructure. This role is ideal for an engineering leader who enjoys mentoring teams, owning architecture decisions, and remaining technically engaged. Responsibilities: Engineering Leadership & Delivery Lead 2â4 software engineers and SQA within an Agile delivery model Own technical design, architecture, and implementation of pharmacy applications Balance handsâon development with team leadership and delivery accountability Ensure delivery of highâquality, secure, and maintainable software Reduce technical debt through proactive design and modernization efforts Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and production issues People Management Hire, onboard, coach, and develop engineering talent Set clear expectations and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable engineering culture Some of these engineers will be associates from vendor partners. Onboard and support them as one team to be successful. CrossâFunctional Collaboration Partner with Product, Pharmacy Operations, IT, and stakeholders to drive roadmap execution Translate business needs into technical solutions with clear tradeâoffs Represent engineering in planning, prioritization, and stakeholder discussions Communicate status, risks, and impacts clearly to technical and nonâtechnical audiences Effectively manage vendors involved with product integration. Architecture & Strategy Contribute to platform and application architecture standards Help shape longâterm technical strategy aligned with business goals Participate in planning, resource allocation, and budget considerations Qualifications: Education: Bachelorâs degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Management, or similar discipline from an accredited college or university Required Experience 10+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering and system design 3+ years leading or managing software engineers Experience in pharmacy applications or healthcare, HL7 or FHIR HealthCare Systems Interoperability is highly preferred Strong background in .NET/C# , APIâdriven and distributed architectures Fullâstack experience with modern web technologies (e.g., React, TypeScript ) Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP acceptable) Handsâon knowledge of DevOps/CIâCD practices Strong understanding of software architecture, security, and integration patterns Proven ability to deliver projects on schedule and within scope Preferred / NiceâtoâHave Familiarity with legacy Windows applications and modernization initiatives Knowledge of Delphi, Power BI, ETL, Databricks, Informix, VB, PowerShell Exposure to Azure DevOps , API Gateways, and data platforms Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong problemâsolving and decisionâmaking skills Ability to balance delivery pressure with longâterm quality and sustainability Comfortable working in fastâpaced, evolving environments Excellent communication skills across technical and business audiences Selfâdriven, proactive, and ownershipâoriented leadership style WE OFFER At VytlOne we offer a diverse and inclusive work culture that supports a flexible work model in a collaborative, innovative team-oriented environment.
