Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Enfield
Location: Enfield, North London
Salary: £85 – £100 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: Immediate or September 2025

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Enfield. You will be working closely with pupils who have complex needs, including autism spectrum conditions, communication delays, and behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEN
- Use Makaton and PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) to support communication and independence
- Adapt learning materials and strategies to individual pupil needs
- Support the implementation of EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and families
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience supporting children with special educational needs
- Familiarity or training in Makaton and PECS is essential
- A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour and emotional regulation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to helping every child thrive socially, emotionally, and academically
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
