Position: Sr. Business Analyst – Payments / Cash ManagementLarge Banking ClientLocation: RemoteDuration: 6+ month contract; Strong potential for extension / full time hireOverviewOur client in the banking domain is seeking a Sr. Business Analyst – Payments to support the Treasury Product, Commercial lines of business, and broader Cash Management initiatives.The Sr. Business Analyst – Payments will play a critical role in developing and executing payment and cash management strategies in collaboration with the Head of Transaction Banking Product Management, payments partners across several lines of business, and functional teams including IT, Operations, Marketing, Risk, Compliance, and strategic third‑party providers.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop user stories and detailed business requirements for payment platform migration and new product development.Partner with the Wire Product Manager and ACH Product Manager to define specifications and deliver the strategic product roadmap.Understand and actively manage risks associated with instant payment products.Explore emerging payment opportunities, including blockchain, digital assets, and innovative interim solutions.Analyze client usage of payment products to identify value drivers and improvement opportunities.Collaborate with Marketing to build effective go-to-market programs for new payment products.Leverage data analysis and market intelligence to propose new ideas and enhancements.Align closely with Client Service & Onboarding to ensure a strong client experience.Support testing and validation of new payment workflows and system integrations.Document functional specifications and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.Added: Cash Management ResponsibilitiesPartner with Cash Management, Treasury Services, and Liquidity teams to define requirements for new and enhanced cash management products (e.g., account analysis, sweeps, liquidity structures, lockbox, RDC, merchant services).Analyze client cash flow patterns, treasury behaviors, and working capital needs to support new product development and optimization.Evaluate and document requirements for improvements to balance and transaction reporting, treasury dashboards, and real-time liquidity visibility.Support enhancements to cash concentration structures, automated sweeps, and liquidity management tools.Work with Operations to streamline cash posting, exception handling, and receivables processes.Assess competitive cash management offerings and market trends to identify gaps and opportunities.Partner with Risk and Compliance to ensure cash management products and processes adhere to evolving regulatory standards.Build business cases for new Cash Management solutions including revenue forecasting, cost/benefit analysis, and customer impact assessments.Required Experience7–10 years of Business Analyst experience in Transaction Banking, Payments, or Cash Management–related technology domains.Deep understanding of ACH and wire payment systems, including experience with Federal Reserve systems.Hands-on experience supporting or integrating Cash Management products (e.g., liquidity, account analysis, receivables/payables solutions).Familiarity with EPN (Electronic Payments Network) and PagoNXT platforms (ideal).Experience with FIS payment platforms (preferred).Strong background in requirements gathering, user story development, and product specification writing.Ability to leverage and analyze data to identify market opportunities.Soft SkillsExcellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations tailored to different audiences.Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills across multiple business lines.Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and share knowledge with the team.Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving capabilities in a fast‑paced environment.Experience with blockchain technologies is a plus.Apex Benefits OverviewApex offers a range of supplemental benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and other insurance plans that offer an optional layer of financial protection.
