Job Title: Statistical and Psychology Research Professional Location: Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio Employment: Remote, Full Time Targeted Start Date: 30 SEP 2026 What you will be doing: We are seeking a dedicated Statistical and Psychology Research Professional to provide subject matter expertise to the USAFSAM Department of Aerospace Medicine, specifically within the Aerospace Medicine Studies and Analysis Division and the Aeromedical Operational and Clinical Psychology Branch. In this role, you will help expand consultation and research capabilities aimed at improving the assessment, monitoring, training, and treatment of airmen in high-risk, high-demand career fields throughout their careers, with a focus on readiness, health, and performance. This initiative addresses concerns about psychological functioning related to operational health and performance, and targets aeromedically relevant issues, including performance enhancement interventions and adaptation strategies for aircrew, intelligence, remotely piloted aircraft, cyberwarfare, special duty, and senior leadership positions within the United States Air Force. You will support data collection, analysis, report writing, and the overall management of research studies and deliverables-such as military and academic presentations, journal articles, technical reports, and educational materials-covering demographic, operational, and behavioral health variables tied to adaptation and performance. Your responsibilities will include scientific research design, professional reviews of the scientific literature, database management, data collection and statistical analysis, discussion of results, and preparation of research technical reports and presentations. You Must Have: Must be able to provide proof of US Citizenship Must be able to pass a background screening Minimum of a Master's degree specializing in Research Psychology, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a related Psychology discipline. Expert knowledge with at least 5 years of experience of database development, gathering and organizing data supporting analyses for a wide range of analytical procedures, research report writing, and developing actionable recommendations for improving human performance based on research. At least 5 years of experience designing and conducting statistical data analysis using software such as JMP, SPSS, R, etc. At least 5 years of experience with developing products presenting research outcomes (e.g., statistical results and interpretations), to include professional presentations, peer-reviewed publications, and/or technical reports. At least 5 years of experience engaged in administrative management with regard to study design, methodology, and dissemination of results regarding empirically based human performance research studies. Nice To Have: A doctoral degree (or Master's degree plus 7+ years of relevant experience) specializing in Research Psychology, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a related Psychology discipline is desired. Experience with human performance and behavioral science research within the Department of War (DoW) is desired. Experience developing and administering comprehensive, validated psychological instruments via mobile and web-based capabilities is desired. Experience as an author of publications in peer-reviewed journals or official USAF/DoW technical reports in behavioral science with regards to human performance and behavioral science research is desired. Certification in administering psychological assessments (e.g., NEO, Hogan, EQ-i) and providing individualized feedback is desired.
