Rapidly growing direct-to-consumer eCommerce company specializing in lifestyle apparel is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant
Comp: $70-100K
Hybrid: 2 days in office/ 3 days WFH

- Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate financial records using QuickBooks, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Process and track transactions related to sales, refunds, and expenses from our Shopify platform, ensuring seamless integration with accounting systems.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and ecommerce payment gateways to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer billing inquiries.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for management review.
- Monitor inventory costs and assist with periodic inventory reconciliations to align with sales and purchasing data.
- Help prepare budgets and forecasts by compiling data and analyzing trends in ecommerce performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations, assisting with sales tax filings and other statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with the Controller and finance team to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and support audits as needed to maintain transparency and accuracy. Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 1-2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in ecommerce or retail environments.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and experience with Shopify or similar ecommerce platforms.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP knowledge a plus).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and meet deadlines.
