Responsibilities:
- Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and Government Agencies for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers
- Provide exceptional customer service and respond to customer inquiries
- Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using databases, SOPs, tariff books, and internet resources
- Process import-related documentation, including data entry and submission to US Customs and participating Government Agencies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements
- Adhere to international importing and exporting regulations
- Collaborate with internal staff, departments, and customers to deliver high levels of service
- Process agency brokerage shipments and remote filings
- Ensure compliance with government and organizational policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 6 months of work experience (no industry experience required)
- Data entry and keyboard experience required
- Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle high-volume work
- Must be located within 50 miles of our facility in Anchorage, AK
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with data entry, information processing, and airline shipments
- Experience in International Trade, Customs Trade Agent, or Brokerage
