They are seeking a Structural (Bridge) CAD Designer/Drafter to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on the detailed design of transportation structures and providing superior customer experience. Responsibilities Collaboration with multidisciplinary team members including engineers, planners, scientists, and technical and administrative support staff in the development of detailed design contract packages Assistance to project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design of transportation structures Completion of detailed design drafting for a variety of project types Application of 2D and 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD and other specialty programs to produce design drawings Preparation of construction drawings/documents Calculation of quantity take-offs for concrete volumes, reinforcement, and miscellaneous steel for complex structures Assistance with contract administration tasks including construction observation, shop drawing review, contractor submittal review, progress payment preparation, and responding to requests for information Coordination and completion of site assessments, construction observation and construction management of site documentation Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request A commitment to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development A commitment to career development supported by senior drafters and engineers with 20+ years of experience Opportunity to enroll in Dillon’s early career development program Skills Diploma program from an accredited Architectural or Engineering Technologist Program, or equivalent 0-5 Years of experience in the engineering consulting industry Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills Highly organized and detail oriented Proficient use of current AutoCAD and/or Revit software Knowledge of Civil 3D Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial/industry engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements Understanding of the range of project design and implementation activities including development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, and contract administration Benefits Employee share purchase plan Comprehensive health benefits Generous retirement savings plan Student loan repayment assistance with matching employer contributions Flexible work hours and hybrid working options Learning and Development opportunities Employee and Family Assistance program Goodlife Fitness Corporate Membership Wellness Subsidy Company Overview Dillon is a proudly Canadian, employee-owned, professional consulting firm with over 1,100 employees specializing in planning, engineering, environmental science and management.
