Job Description

This staff leader at Church of the Cove will cast vision for student ministry and take the needed steps to execute, always keeping the overall vision of the church in mind. This leader plays the most vital role in helping young people develop a strong, personal
relationship with Christ, equipping them to live out their faith boldly. By fostering a loving, nurturing, and service-oriented community, this Student Minister empowers students (grades 6-12) in their spiritual formation, discipleship, and engagement with
the life and mission of Church of the Cove.

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Cast vision for Student Ministries by implementing the vision of Church of the Cove in the context of Student Ministries.
  • Be relational, self-motivated, and influential on the students entrusted in your care
  • Create an inviting community that provides students with a safe place to belong; an atmosphere where they feel supported and loved.
  • Develop and evaluate annual and semester goals for Student Ministries
  • Encourage and raise-up Student Leaders within the ministry
  • Lead and develop adult volunteers by setting roles, helping set goals, developing ministry capabilities, and modeling a team approach to the ministry
  • Serve as the primary teacher for all student services delivering engaging and relevant preaching/teaching that leads them into our vision of having a relationship with Jesus; 24-7-365
  • Shepherd not only the students but also assist their parents with tools and information to help impact their Christian walk as a family.
  • Help shape student’s worldview by developing and coordinating mission experience opportunities that get students out of their comfort zones to serve both locally, nationally and internationally
  • Be active in local Middle & High School communities and utilize social media platforms, videos, websites, and other technologies and announcement venues to promote and invite students to events
  • Develop and coordinate oversight of Student Ministries’ annual budget.
  • Assist with other church ministries, special programs and events throughout the year as requested by the Senior Pastor
    Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) expected
  • Biblical studies certification or degree preferred
  • Qualified experience or internship in church and student ministry required
