Job Title: Systems Engineer
Location: Remote
Duration: 4 months (Possible Extension)

They are looking for a Senior Security Engineers to support high-visibility initiatives related to the Discover acquisition and merger. Candidates will join the Cyber Identity & Assurance team and will contribute to both strategic project work and day-to-day identity operations.
These roles are long-term contract engagements, supporting Active Directory, identity security, observability, and automation. The ideal candidates are senior-level engineers with deep technical knowledge in identity platforms, scripting, and security operations.

Design, operate, and secure Active Directory and Domain Services environments.
Execute and support monthly domain controller rebuilds using automated CI/CD pipelines ("Rehydration process").
Perform PowerShell-based automation for identity and infrastructure operations.
Apply identity security best practices aligned with governance frameworks.

Develop advanced Splunk queries, dashboards, and alerting.
Use New Relic for observability across services and infrastructure.
Identify monitoring gaps and enhance real-time operational awareness.

Support services running in AWS (domain controllers and identity services).
Collaborate with engineering teams on cloud-based identity infrastructure.
Apply DevOps and CI/CD best practices for infrastructure delivery using Git.

Participate in Agile Scrum teams (2-week sprints).
Manage work using JIRA and Confluence.
Handle tickets and workflows via ServiceNow.
Participate in limited on-call rotation (approximately once every two months for one week).
