Job Overview
CEI Arts Education is seeking experienced Music and Visual Art Teaching Artists to join a fully remote arts education program delivered exclusively via Zoom. This position runs from late February through May 2026 and meets primarily on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Teaching Artists will work with students in self-contained classrooms, including students with disabilities, and will also facilitate professional development workshops for classroom teachers using a developed curriculum.
This is a W2 part-time position ideal for experienced arts educators with a strong background in public school settings and inclusive education.
- Responsibilities
- Attend required staff trainings
- Lead virtual arts workshops for K–8 students
- Teach Music or Visual Art using an established curriculum
- Facilitate professional development workshops for classroom teachers
- Collaborate with program staff and educators
- Utilize Google Suite tools for communication and documentation
- Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a teaching artist or arts educator
- BA or MA required
- Experience teaching Visual Art or Music to K–8 students
- Experience working in self-contained classrooms of students with disabilities (NYC District 75 preferred)
- Experience teaching in a public school setting (NYCDOE preferred)
- Experience leading professional learning workshops for teachers
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Availability Tuesdays and Thursdays through 7:15 PM (Late Feb–May 2026)
Pay: Up to $500.00 per day
