Job Summary / Purpose: The Team Lead Accounting provides financial analytical assistance and oversight to the accounting functions. This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, particularly in Equity, Stock-Based Compensation & Cap Table, Debt Management and Lease Accounting (ASC 842), combined with the leadership capability to manage cross-functional initiatives and external audit relationships. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Support the planning, implementation, and oversight of TheKey’s financial strategy Manage day-to-day close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and preparation of internal and external financial statements Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness Review general ledger activity, including journal entries and supporting documentation Lead the accounting team performance during the closing process to ensure close deadlines are met Assist with the development of accounting policies, perform technical account research, and implement new accounting standards Ensure financial records and reports comply with reporting standards and internal policies Partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and process improvements Support external audit processes and related deliverables Develop and report metrics and KPIs for inclusion in monthly financials and performance scorecards Required Skills, Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Experience reviewing account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Preferred Skills, Education and Certifications: Combination of public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and private industry experience Hands-on experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems Experience working within a publicly traded company environment Exposure to additional accounting areas such as Software Project accounting (deferred and capitalized costs), Fixed Asets, Intangibles & Goodwill is a plus. Physical Requirements: Ability to travel approximately up to 10% of the time Ability to lift and carry up to 15-20 pounds Ability to sit, stand and walk for prolonged period of time throughout the work day Ability to use standard office equipment such as personal computer, laptop, telephone, photocopy machine, etc .
