Role Overview
This contract role involves delivering professional nursing services on a 45-bed medical-surgical telemetry unit. The position requires a minimum of 36 guaranteed weekly hours, including every other weekend coverage, with one call shift in an eight-week block. The patient-to-nurse ratio ranges from 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5-6 at night, ensuring manageable caseloads for quality patient care.
- Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring and managing telemetry and cardiac patients in an acute inpatient setting
- Administering medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to plan and implement patient care
- Utilizing the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system for documentation
- Responding appropriately to patient needs, including critical situations
- Qualifications and Experience
- Current RN licensure with a minimum of one year clinical experience
- Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred, Telemetry certification mandatory
- Demonstrated experience in cardiac nursing, telemetry monitoring, and medical-surgical care
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care environment
