Test Architect – Performance, Scale, Reliability

Job Description: • Define the vision and roadmap for performance, scalability, and reliability testing across products. • Partner with engineering, product management, and customer success to gather and translate performance requirements into actionable test objectives. • Establish key metrics and benchmarks for performance and scalability. • Architect and maintain performance test environments that closely model production and customer deployments. • Design reusable test harnesses, frameworks, and automation to streamline performance testing.

• Evaluate and integrate modern tools and technologies for load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing. • Develop and run performance tests, analyze results, and identify bottlenecks. • Provide actionable insights to engineering teams, influencing product design for optimal performance and reliability. • Conduct capacity planning and model system behavior under peak workloads and failure scenarios. • Serve as the subject-matter expert on performance and scalability. • Mentor engineers and QA teams on best practices for building performance into products from the ground up.

• Mentor senior engineers and influence engineering culture across product lines. • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to executives, product leaders, and strategic customers. Requirements: • Proven experience (8+ years) in performance engineering, scale testing, or software reliability roles. • Strong background in designing and executing benchmarks and performance test suites for complex systems. • Hands-on expertise with tools such as JMeter, Gatling, Locust, k6, or equivalent. • Solid knowledge of system architecture, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and container orchestration (Kubernetes).

• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, or similar). • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data. • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. • Prior experience as a Test Architect, or equivalent in an enterprise security or infrastructure SaaS company preferred. • Experience with bolthires/CD, policy-as-code, and DevSecOps pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions preferred.
