DLA Piper is a bold and collaborative firm that values its people. The Transactions Assistant - Leveraged Finance will assist paralegals and attorneys by maintaining and organizing files, preparing documents, and performing various administrative tasks to support the firm’s strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Proficiency in Word and Excel
- Experience and/or interest in learning and working with cutting edge legal tools and software
- Strong commitment and interpersonal skills to regularly interact with both clients and legal team members
- Excellent organization and attention to detail skills to manager and track legal documents and spreadsheets with multiple users and versions and prepare and maintain checklists
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- UCC filings
- State filings
- Lien searches
- Engagement with various vendors
- Organize documents for attorney review
- Research public records using internal and public websites
- Assist with preparing binders, preparing closing books, making copies, entering data, and maintaining files
- Perform database research and data entry
- Assist with closings
- Obtain documents and other information from governmental agencies or public agencies
- Assist paralegals and attorneys with signature packets via DocuSign and SimplyAgree

- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year demonstrated success working in a fast-paced environment
- Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties
- Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in an efficient and responsive manner
- Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product
- Successfully meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required
- Foster positive work relationships
- Comply with all firm policies and practices
- Engage in both physical and sedentary activity, such as (a) working at a computer for extended periods of time, including on-screen reading and typing; (b) participating in digital/virtual conference calls; (c) participating in meetings as needed
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
- Perform all other duties, tasks or projects as assigned
- Bachelor's degree
- Paralegal certificate preferred
- Office experience in a law firm environment supporting paralegals and/or attorneys preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with paralegals, attorneys and clients on a regular basis
- Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills necessary to manage volumes of documents, binders, letters, charts, etc
- Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
