Care Coordination RepresentativeOverview Of Position...
The Care Coordination Representative is responsible for completing tasks related to assigned Health Information Management service. Health Information Management services include e-Filing (electronic filing), order and referral management, insurance verifications, prior authorizations, and completing patient medical forms. The Operations Representative reports directly to the Care Coordination Supervisor. This is a remote position that allows you to work from your own home office environment.
In addition to demonstrating Verisma values applicable to all positions, the Care Coordination Representative is responsible for the following:
Duties And Tasks
ΓΒ Evaluate medical documents and file them electronically into patient charts according to client protocols
ΓΒ Navigate client electronic health records (EHR) software and internal systems with ease
ΓΒ Ability to handle high volumes of work with high quality and accuracy
ΓΒ Utilize strong data entry and typing skills with ability to move quickly on a keyboard
ΓΒ Cross-train in multiple EHRs to provide additional team coverage when needed
ΓΒ Follow pre-defined filing processes, and if needed, refer to company internal documentation, or ask your supervisor for assistance in filing the document properly
ΓΒ Understand and utilize assigned clientsΓΒ protocols and Service Level Agreement
ΓΒ Track your completed work to log time and transaction counts on an hourly basis or as directed by management
ΓΒ Know the PGLs (Planning Guidelines) or Target Transactions per Hour for the client accounts you are working on
ΓΒ Complete all work as assigned by management
ΓΒ Report to management any reasons for a variance to standard, including all issues preventing or delaying planned job completion, and report any actions taken to resolve
ΓΒ Study and continually reference internal documentation and protocols
ΓΒ Exercise confidentiality concerning the affairs of the business and follow HIPAA guidelines and procedures; report all HIPAA violations, maintain good HIPAA practices
ΓΒ Attend any meetings or training as required
ΓΒ Understand and comply with company/client agreed compliance standards
ΓΒ Understands that this role requires specific responsibilities for protecting sensitive data
ΓΒ Other duties as assigned
Placement Criteria
ΓΒ Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalency; Associates degree in similar field a plus
ΓΒ Experience working with Electronic Health Records.
ΓΒ Familiarity with medical terminology
ΓΒ Ability to distinguish differences in medical documentation
ΓΒ Extensive knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within health information management is a plus, but not required
ΓΒ Can handle a high-volume, fast-paced environment while delivering high quality and accurate work
ΓΒ Employee should have intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, the use of multiple monitors, and the ability to learn and adapt to company-specific software
ΓΒ Able to navigate efficiently through several open windows and multiple applications running concurrently on your computer
ΓΒ Attention to detail is a must
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand, walk, and drive or ride in a motor vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Must have the ability to travel, with occasional after hours or weekend hours required.
Work Environment
This job is a remote position and requires familiarity with standard office equipment such as computers and phones. You must have a designated and quiet space as well as strong internet service. Because you will be handling confidential client information, you must work from your home office and cannot work in a public location (like a coffee shop or the library). Computer equipment will be supplied by the Company.
