Job Description
Project Overview:
We are CALLIE, an emotionally-driven personalized gift brand targeting primarily female consumers in the US/EU via our DTC website. We have completed a comprehensive brand strategy in Chinese and need an experienced US-based brand strategist to conduct a cultural localization audit and provide actionable recommendations for the American market.
About Our Existing Strategy (Key Elements for Your Review):
- Core Positioning: “An emotional personalized gift brand using refined aesthetics and thoughtful customization to make every gifting a memorable emotional moment.”
- Emotional Pillars: Love, Appreciation, Memory, Support & Healing, Memorial, Pet Bond.
- User Personas: Consolidated into 5, including The Romantic Partner, The Sentimental Parent, etc.
- Brand Personality: Defined as 4 dimensions: The Warm One, The Refined One, The Trustworthy One, The Empathetic One.
- Visual & Experience Codes: A detailed system including “Moment Light”, “Memory Texture”, and a strict “Brand Gate” audit system.
Scope of Work & Your Deliverables:
1.Deep Dive & Cultural Audit: Thoroughly review our provided strategy documents (English version available). Identify potential cultural misalignments, linguistic nuances, and emotional resonance gaps for the US female consumer.
2.Competitive & Context Analysis: Benchmark our positioning against key US competitors (e.g., Uncommon Goods, Etsy premium, Personalization Mall) from a brand strategy perspective, not just product.
3.Strategic Recommendations Report: Provide a structured report with prioritized recommendations on:
- Adjustments to Emotional Pillars & Messaging (e.g., Is “Pet Bond” stronger than “Pet Memorial”? Is “Support & Healing” appropriately framed?).
- Refinement of User Personas & Brand Voice to enhance relatability.
- Practical advice on implementing Brand Codes (visual & experiential) in the US context.
4. Optional/Collaboration: Workshop on key findings and co-create adjustments.
We Are Looking For:
- Proven experience in brand strategy, localization, or marketing for DTC/e-commerce brands targeting US women.
- Deep understanding of the US gifting culture, consumer psychology, and emotional branding.
- Portfolio or case studies showing how you’ve adapted or audited brand strategies for cultural fit.
- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and communication skills.
Please apply with:
- Your relevant experience and why you are a good fit for this project.
- Your initial thoughts on the potential challenges/opportunities for an emotional gift brand entering the US market.
- Your proposed approach and timeline.
- Your rate (fixed project fee preferred).
