Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented US Residential Mortgage Underwriter specializing in Qualified Mortgage (QM) and Non-QM loan programs, who can review and provide the sign off. In this pivotal role, you will evaluate residential mortgage applications to ensure compliance with federal regulations, investor guidelines, and internal policies. Responsibilities • Analyze residential mortgage loan applications by reviewing borrower financial documents, credit reports, and property valuations to determine eligibility under QM and Non-QM standards. • Conduct comprehensive risk analysis through cash flow assessments, debt-to-income ratio calculations, and financial modeling to ensure loan viability. • Apply underwriting guidelines accurately while making informed decisions on loan approvals, denials, or conditions for approval.

• Collaborate with loan processors and originators to clarify application details and resolve discrepancies efficiently. • Maintain thorough documentation of underwriting decisions, including detailed reports that support compliance and audit requirements. • Stay current with evolving federal regulations, investor criteria, and industry best practices related to mortgage underwriting. Skills • Strong understanding of financial concepts such as cash flow analysis, credit analysis, and financial modeling.

• Well versed with FNMA, FHLMC, knowledge of GNMA and investor guidelines. • Evaluate the complete loan documents and should provide approval or denial decision. • Evaluate evidence of borrowers willingness and ability to repay the obligation. • Analyze borrower credit, income, assets, and the property's collateral to determine a loan's risk level and eligibility. • Proficiency in assessment and mortgage processing. • Excellent quantitative research skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for accurate decision-making.
