Job Title: UX Research & Design Intern
Job Type: UNPAID Internship, part-time (15-20 hours/week)
Location: 100% Remote (United States)
The UX Research & Design Intern defines the optimal digital user experience for the multiple projects and prospective users, and provides design requirements for achieving that experience.
We are a small tech startup focused on helping enterprise organizations improve their technology through our online resources.
The UX Research & Design Intern will work with the Senior Designer as well as a small team of Design Interns and various test users in order to determine design and functionality that will drive an exceptional user experience.
- Responsibilities:
- Strategy: Participate in defining user journeys and recommendations for features while balancing business goals and tech capabilities.
- Prototyping: Contribute to wireframing and prototyping efforts to iterate on existing user experiences.
- Research: Identify factors influencing user goals and create mental models to illustrate needs.
- Collaboration: Provide input on delivery plans and the UX design framework.
- Synthesis: Assimilate information from various sources to translate requirements into engaging design solutions.
- Documentation: Produce and improve journey maps, site-maps, and user-flow diagrams to convey practical functionality.
- Interaction: Collaborate on interaction models and prototypes to capture macro and micro-interactions.
- Communication: Create project briefs, competitive analyses, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a workshop, bootcamp, online class, or bachelorβs degree program in user experience, graphic design, human computer interaction, or related field
- Knowledge of UI/UX best practices and trends
- Strong understanding of Design principles
- Proficiency with design tools ex. Figma
- Strong collaboration, communication and presentation skills
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 15-20 hours per week
- Proficiency in visual design a plus, but not required
