The Western Journal is seeking a Video Content Producer to create and optimize video content across short-form, mid-form, long-form, and live formats. This role is responsible for producing timely, high-quality, platform-optimized content that drives audience growth, engagement, and monetization. Description The Video Content Producer will be responsible for producing and editing video content across multiple formats, including short-form (Reels, Shorts), mid-form social videos, long-form programming, and live broadcasts. This includes transforming written news content into video, editing interviews and shows, and preparing live content for distribution and replay. This role requires a strong understanding of social media platforms and video performance, including how content is structured, distributed, and consumed across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and X. The ideal candidate is highly aware of current events, understands emerging trends, and can produce content with speed and accuracy in a fast-paced news environment. Responsibilities include editing for clarity, pacing, and viewer retention; adding captions and motion graphics; formatting content for platform-specific performance; and repurposing content efficiently across multiple channels. The role also includes supporting live production workflows by preparing visual assets and assisting in post-live content distribution. The Video Content Producer will work closely with editorial and social teams to identify high-impact stories and ensure consistent, high-quality output aligned with brand standards. This role requires consistent, high-volume production and the ability to execute quickly on daily news cycles. Requirements 2+ years of video production or editing experience Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or similar tools Demonstrated experience creating content for social media platforms Strong understanding of short-form video structure and viewer retention Ability to work quickly in a deadline-driven environment Awareness of current events and the ability to respond to trends in real time Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in news, media, or political content Experience with live production workflows (Streamyard, OBS, or similar) Basic motion graphics experience Familiarity with social media monetization strategies Why This Role Matters This role plays a direct part in expanding the reach and impact of The Western Journal across millions of viewers.
