Job Title: Virtualization Architect

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Virtualization Architect to design, implement, and manage enterprise virtualization infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building scalable, high-availability virtual environments and leading virtualization strategy across data centers and cloud platforms. This role requires deep expertise in virtualization technologies, storage, networking, and infrastructure automation.
- Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect enterprise virtualization platforms to support business-critical applications.
- Lead the deployment, configuration, and optimization of virtualization environments.
- Manage virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper V, and KVM.
- Architect solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Implement and maintain virtual networking, storage virtualization, and compute optimization.
- Work with infrastructure teams to design scalable data center virtualization strategies.
- Plan and execute server consolidation and migration projects.
- Integrate virtualization solutions with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
- Ensure performance monitoring, capacity planning, and system optimization.
- Maintain security and compliance across virtual environments.
- Create architecture documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to infrastructure engineers.
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8+ years of IT infrastructure experience with at least 4+ years in virtualization architecture.
- Strong experience with VMware ecosystem including VMware ESXi and VMware vCenter.
- Experience with hypervisor technologies and virtual machine lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of SAN, NAS, and software-defined storage solutions.
- Experience with network virtualization and SDN concepts.
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and server hardware.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
- Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP), or cloud certifications.
- Experience with container platforms like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud architecture.
