The San Francisco Chronicle seeks a Visuals Intern for summer 2026 to create compelling photo and video content covering news, features, and sports in a hybrid San Francisco setting. Your Role Here’s what you will be doing: • Make informative and visually compelling images on deadline for daily stories. • Transmit photos and videos remotely. • Contribute accurate, concise, typo-free captions and additional reporting. • Collaborate closely with editors and reporters in the field. About You

The company is looking for: • Juniors, seniors, or recent graduates with prior experience at a college news publication or professional news organization.

• A strong online portfolio featuring still photography and video. • Keen attention to detail and strong news and ethical judgment. • Ability to work effectively under deadline pressure. • A current driver's license and car, or willingness to take ride-shares or public transportation. • An interest in and enthusiasm for local and community storytelling. Compensation & Benefits • Paid internship at $19.18 per hour. • 40 hours per week for 12 weeks, from early June to early August. • Five-day workweek with possible weekend coverage.

Training & Development • Assignment of a photographer and photo editor mentor. Include a portfolio or links to your work, a cover letter, and resume in your application. If applicable, provide brief explanations of your role in the execution of the pieces.
