An employee in this class works under the general supervision of the assigned supervisor and work is reviewed by reports, discussions, and compliance with established practices and procedures and by adherence to safety standards. Depending on the specific area of assignment, the work of the Water Quality Analyst may emphasize one or more of the following areas: trace metals chemistry, nutrient chemistry, conventionals chemistry, laboratory quality assurance coordination, regulatory compliance and environmental and drinking water sampling. <strong>Desired experience with laboratory information management systems and quality assurance/quality control statistical and analytical techniques. </strong><br><br>For a full description of this position, please see the class specification on the <br><br>For full benefits information for this position: <br><strong>About the Division</strong><br>The Everett Environmental Lab analyzes drinking water, wastewater, and solids matrices to assure compliance with the EPA, Department of Health, and Department of Ecology monitoring requirements. The laboratory is open to the public but primarily supports testing needs for the Water Filtration Plant, Water Pollution Control Facility, Industrial Pre-Treatment, and Surface Water Management. The lab is currently staffed by five highly skilled analysts each with their own expertise in specific chemical and biological fields, analyzing roughly 30,000 analytes on an annual basis.
