Barr Engineering Co. is seeking a water resources engineer to join their Calgary team. In this hybrid role, you will undertake challenging work on projects related to hydraulic and hydrologic analysis, civil engineering, and related technical activities, including field assignments such as construction observation and surveying. Responsibilities Technical analysis: hydraulic and hydrologic analysis Modelling support: experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling; familiarity with modelling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or PCSWMM Design support: open channel flow design, hydraulic structure design, and completion of plans and specifications Skills B.Sc. in civil, environmental, or related engineering fields with a focus on water resources Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software, CADD, or GIS software Possession of a current, valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without the need for sponsorship by Barr Engineering and Environmental Science Canada Ltd., now or in the future Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite applications Strong written and oral presentation skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a part of a project team Flexible working style and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedule as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs M.Sc. or PhD in civil or environmental engineering with a focus on hydrology and/or hydraulics Exposure to GIS, CADD, or other relevant programs Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certified or the ability to obtain within one year Benefits Discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance Company Overview Barr is a company providing engineering and environmental consulting services.
