Job Description
Overview
We're a busy virtual real estate law firm operating throughout Wisconsin — handling complex transactions and litigation. Our clients count on us when the details matter most.
We need a paralegal who takes ownership, stays ahead of deadlines, and makes sure the attorney stays focused on the work only she can do.
Your Mission
Keep files organized. Keep transactions and cases moving. Keep clients informed. Keep the attorney focused on legal work only she can handle.
In real estate law, a missed deadline or a misfiled document can cost a client their deal — or worse, their case. You'll be the person who makes sure that never happens.
- What You'll Do
- Draft and prepare real estate transaction documents, closing documents, pleadings, discovery requests, and litigation support materials
- Organize and manage digital case files across active transactions and litigation matters
- Track court deadlines, filing dates, and transaction milestones — nothing slips
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, title companies, lenders, and court staff
- Handle client communication and respond to routine inquiries professionally
- Assist with e-filing in Wisconsin state courts and maintain compliance with court rules
- Help build and refine systems that make the practice more efficient over time
- Attend daily meeting with firm staff and help with any issues with goal of increasing client satisfaction
- Who You Are
- Experienced in real estate law, real estate litigation, or both — you know how these deals and disputes work
- Detail-oriented to the point where a wrong date on a document genuinely bothers you
- Proactive — you don't wait to be told what's next; you anticipate it
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment without someone looking over your shoulder
- Tech-comfortable — you pick up new software quickly and embrace systems that make work better
- A strong communicator in writing — with clients, courts, and counsel alike
- This Role Is NOT for You If…
- You need someone to hand you a task list every morning
- You treat "close enough" as acceptable on legal documents
- Deadlines feel optional when things get busy
- You prefer a structured office environment over a high-trust remote role
- Position Details
- Type: Part time or Full-time
- Location: Fully remote (Wisconsin-based preferred)
- Schedule: Standard business hours
- Pay: Starting at $35.00 an hour
How to Apply
- Send the following to [email protected]:
- Your resume
- Why real estate law? Tell us what draws you to this practice area specifically — not just law in general.
- Tell us about a deadline you saved. Describe a situation where you caught a problem or error before it became costly — what happened, and what did you do?
Applications that do not include answers to all three questions will not be considered. We read every response carefully.
Pay: $59,823.09 - $72,045.01 per year
Work Location: Remote
